2018 China Poverty Reduction Forum

Description

The Global Poverty Reduction Inclusive Growth Portal (GPIG) (http://www.iprcc.org.cn/south) is a knowledge sharing platform focusing on policy research, country profiles and news of poverty reduction and inclusive growth. Initiated by the World Bank and supported by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), GPIG is co-hosted by the International Poverty Reduction Centre in China (IPRCC) and the China Internet Information Centre (CIIC). Since its launch in May 2016, GPIG has created a network of more than 40 international organizations, research institutes, think tanks and universities in the pursuit of the 2030 SDG Agenda.

In May 2017, GPIG launched its knowledge sharing database named the Global Poverty Reduction Online Knowledge Sharing Database (http://case.iprcc.org.cn/). The database enables knowledge sharing of poverty reduction policies and strategies from both China and the international community.

On May 23, 2018, the 2018 China International Forum on Poverty Reduction will take place in Beijing with the theme of “Sharing and Promoting Cooperation, Joining Hands in Poverty Reduction”. During the forum, ADB, CIIC, IPRCC and other organizations will jointly announce the “Global Solicitation and Challenge Prize on Best Poverty Reduction Practices,” seeking 100 original and outstanding poverty reduction case studies from China and other countries. As the first global campaign of such, this challenge prize aims at innovating and deepening the global partnerships on poverty reduction.
